A man in drag (?) poses wearing a long coat with fur trim and a hat with a brooch. Photographic postcard, 192-.
He smiles at the viewer and holds a bag under his arm. Extremely well-dressed figure wearing the high fashion of the mid-late 1920s. May be a man in drag, or possibly a woman with masculine features. This is difficult to ascertain without further information, as the fashions of the day (the cropped (‘shingled’) hair, small tight ‘cloche’ hats, and flattened bosom) presented an intentionally boyish appearance
Part of James Gardiner Collection: photographs of military, naval, and prisoner-of-war camp drag.
