A.P. Holland in drag posing for the Bow Bells concert party. Photographic postcard, 191-.
A. P. Holland (Bow Bells)
A.P. Holland, a member of the Bow Bells Concert party attached to 56th (London) Division. He is demurely dressed in a fashionable afternoon outfit of fine patterned net or lace embroidered with strings of silk rose-buds. 'Gaby Deslys'-style shoes and a matching picture hat complete the ensemble. His tiny waist is presumably being held in by the kind of corset he is seen being laced into in another photograph (Wellcome Library no. 2043301i)
Part of James Gardiner Collection: photographs of military, naval, and prisoner-of-war camp drag.
