Harry Hawksbee in drag, rehearsing a song with a man wearing sunglasses; posing outdoors. Photographic postcard, 1914.
I can't reach that top note
Part of James Gardiner Collection: photograph album labelled ‘Drag’.
Harry Hawksbee, a music-hall entertainer, holds a fan and wears a long dress. This appears to be a rehearsal for a theatrical performance in a park in Yalding, Kent. The drag is good, and the subjects certainly appear to be enjoying themselves, while the occasion itself remains a mystery (James Gardiner)
