Digital Transgender Archive
An interview with Raymond Rea, an Italian-English-American-white trans male raised in Massachusetts. At the time of this oral history, Rea was working as a Professor in the School of Media Arts & Design at Minnesota State - Moorhead. In this oral history, Rea speaks at length about the geographies of Minnesota, Massachusetts, and San Francisco; the San Francisco punk scene during the 1970s and 1980s; queer cultural differences between Minnesota and California; and the film industry. Rea also touches on starting the Fargo/Moorhead LGBT Film Fest, various queer films, butchness, and normativity.
