Digital Transgender Archive
Donna Ewing is a trans woman assigned male at birth. She was 84 years old at the time of the interview. She traveled a lot and lived a reckless life, she explains. She’s been to Holland, England, Canada, Mexico, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington, and New York. Her father was a farmer. She talks about having a small penis growing up and being taken for a checkup where she remembers being told that she “had more women genes in my body than I had men.” She was a performer and worked at the Gay 90s in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. She had bottom surgery in her 20s. Her father wasn’t supportive at first, but he came around to it while her mother and sister were fine with her transition.
